Rare pair of papier-mâché ovals depicting: Jesus, Savior of the world, and Saint John with the "Lamb of God" and in his hand the staff surmounted by the cross. Area of origin: Bologna. Period "17th century" Dimensions cm 70 X 50. Papier-mâché, a ductile and light material, was used as an alternative to others, has ancient origins, it was composed of linen fibers, stucco, plaster and color. It flourished in Bologna and Florence and in other parts of Italy.
